Meet Dr. Kate Aitken
Dr. Kate Aitken
MFDS, BDent (Hons), BMedSc
Kate completed her Bachelor of Dentistry in 2008 from the University of Sydney. Kate graduated with honours and the Haddon Kemp award for proficiency in Oral Surgery. She also has a Bachelor of Medical Science degree from Macquarie University.
Kate started her career in the Royal Australian Air Force as a Dental Officer. She completed postings in Williamtown and Richmond and was fortunate enough to go away on a humanitarian deployment to South East Asia and Central Australia, providing dental care to remote communities. During her time in the Air Force, Kate took a year out to live and work in the UK as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During this time she completed her Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MFDS RCSEd) and continues to be a member of the College.
Kate prides herself in providing quality care and making the dental experience a positive one. She enjoys treating families and focuses on preventative dentistry. Kate has an interest in early childhood development and has completed a general orthodontic residency, focusing on early childhood growth and development.
Outside work Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also enjoys her sport, particularly hockey and golf, which she continues to play competitively when she can.
